Tokyo Guide Tour for International Students
May 25,2024
On Saturday, May 25, 2024, the "J-Global Community," a new initiative led by students interested in global engagement, held its first event, a "Guide Tour for International Students."
This year, the "J-Global Community" was launched to facilitate exchanges with international students, interactions with people active worldwide, and connections with seniors who have experience studying abroad or participating in overseas internships. Eight enthusiastic students from different departments and academic years gathered to plan and manage this event, driven by the desire to "show Tokyo to international students!"
On the day of the event, eight international students from the Netherlands, Taiwan, and South Korea participated. After a lunch exchange meeting at the Shibuya campus, we moved to Shimokitazawa, where the students explored Japan's vintage clothing culture, a popular spot among young people.
Although initially nervous during the lunch exchange meeting, the atmosphere became lively as we communicated through games designed by the organizing students, such as "Memory Game" and "Truth or Lie Game."
After the lunch meeting, we moved to Shimokitazawa, where everyone enjoyed shopping while visiting various stores. Later, we went to a cafe where we experienced a retro Japanese atmosphere, ordering desserts like melon soda and pancakes and engaging in lively conversations.
The tour content was designed from a student’s perspective, allowing the international students to have a unique experience, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
In the J-Global Community, students will continue to lead global initiatives and exchanges! If you are interested or wish to participate, please apply using the form below.
